The warming centers are currently closed and will re-open the next night temperatures get down to freezing. In the meantime, please invite your under-sheltered neighbors to a free pancake dinner this coming Tuesday, February 25th, 5-6:30 p.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Dallas. We so appreciate you hosting the center for six nights this rotation. Your love and care for the vulnerable in our community is inspiring!

Handwarmers are still an urgent need at both locations. This is one of the best deals on Amazon at the moment: 80 Pack Handwarmers. Thank you for your support in keeping our neighbors warm! The warming centers are closed tonight (2/8), but we are prepping to open tomorrow and Monday nights (2/9-10) as temperatures continue to hover around freezing in rural Polk County. As we get farther into Winter, we are running low on handwarmers. This is one of the most commonly requested items by our guests, and they are nice to have on hand (pun intended!). If you're in the Monmouth area, donations can be dropped off at Praise Assembly (189 Monmouth Ave. S) underneath the back overhang in the box labelled "warming center donations." In Dallas, they can be dropped at the Resource Center (Academy Building, Room 220). Just mention they are for the warming centers. This is one of the best deals on Amazon at the moment: 80 Pack Handwarmers. Thank you for your support in keeping our neighbors warm! Spring is returning to Winter! Overnight lows are forecast to hit freezing or below for the next three nights. This is quite a contrast from the high 40s and 50s we've been experiencing! Because of this, we will be activating the warming centers in both Falls City and Monmouth Saturday/Sunday/Monday nights (February 1-3).
