What is Polk Warming? We've all experienced the cold--whether by choice or circumstance. Polk Warming exists to provide a place of warmth, safety, and hospitality on our coldest nights. We are a community effort of churches, government, and neighbors partnering together for the common good.
The Polk County Warming Centers are emergency shelters open on a rotating and temporary basis. Please see the FAQ page to learn more about our model. We are committed to low barriers and open to all residents of our county who are in need of a safe and warm space for the night. Families and pets welcome. |
The Polk County Warming Centers season is November 1st through March 31st.
We are open on freezing nights forecast to reach 32F or below.
